London, England

Last night we took a red eye from Ottawa to London through Philadelphia.  We left Philadelphia after nine pm, and what with one thing and another, after 7 hours of  air time, losing several hours of time and having very little sleep on the plane, we arrived at Heathrow, very dazed, kind of giddy and gritting our teeth to get through the day.

All we really wanted to do was go to bed, but at 10 30 in the morning, that was just not the thing.  So, we opted for a pub lunch in Paddington, boarded a hop on hop off type bus tour which we did not hop off of, unless absolutely necessary, because of our extreme tiredness and the bitter blanket of cold which has lain heavily on the UK these last few weeks.  And although blossoms abound everywhere, icy wind and a dry cold make a warm bus a cozy place to be.

We got the grand tour of gawking from bus windows, the lovely sites of London on this blustery day, and off to bed at 7 30, we plan to get up early and address Saint Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London for a deeper look during our profoundly short stay in London before we head off to Bath.

Yawn. YAAWWNN.
