Montepulciano and the Via Chiesa

You can't get too far in Montepulciano without passing a church.  So, today, Santo Biago, Santa Maria Assunta, Santo Agostino, Santa Lucia, Santa Gesu, Santa Agnese...I think those are all the ones we visited.

Here is the view from our window, that I took this morning, as the market was being set up in the square.  The big building in the background is the cathedral of Montepulciano, Santa Mary Assunta.

The church of Saint Agnes contains the incorrupt body of Agnes, encased in glass.  The incredible story of Saint Agnes in a nutshell is here.  She has all our petitions in her hands today, my friends.

A spectacular day meandering.
